Pre-monsoon preparedness – Coordinated actions during flood

This video gives an insight into the annual mock flood exercise in a community in the Karnali river valley coordinated by Practical Action as a member of the Zurich Flood Resilience Alliance. These drills give community members, and the Community Disaster Management Committee members a chance to practice what action to take in a real flood, and how to respond to alerts from Flood Early Warning Systems. They are an opportunity to enhance the capacity of communities, local governments and humanitarian actors, particularly their skills and confidence to prepare for, plan, and execute responses to a flood event.
