River monitoring for early warning systems using lidar sensors – Solutions brief

Practical Action, in collaboration with Imperial College London, has been working in Nepal, Peru and Bolivia to test light detection and ranging (lidar) sensors. These sensors enable improved river level monitoring, which then helps riverine communities to take action to protect lives, assets, and livelihoods.
