Rainfall and citizen science

This video is a case study of a project where Practical Action and the Peruvian National Service of Meteorology and Hydrology (SENAMHI) work together with community volunteers using a citizen science approach to monitor precipitation in the Rimac watershed in the outskirts of Lima. The network of volunteers gather data that is used to complement official recording and provide more localised, detailed information which is used to better understand flash flood and landslide risk.
